Another late addition but we aim to make your lead-up to christmas as pleasant as possible as do The Wurst Soundtrack.
Baltimore’s Lower Dens consists of three dudes and Jana Hunter, reclusive folkie who released a couple of albums on Devendra Banhart and Andy “Vetiver” Cabic’ label, Gnomonsong and then went into hiding for the past three years. Well, she’s back with a proper band this time and judging by the live videos below this is must-see show. As the Wurst puts it:
“Swarming guitar fuzz, bass waves, insistent drum throbs and Jana Hunter’s redolent, charred voice are the core components of Lower Dens”. Thanks Wurst.
Their debut album Twin-Hand Movement was released last July on Gnomonsong and has received favourable reviews naturally enough. Right, another album to add to the christmas shopping list, how did these guys pass me by?
